Visiting choirs are warmly welcomed to sing at St. Peter’s. The normal vacancies for visiting choirs are:
- The Sunday after Christmas Day
- The Sunday after Easter (Low Sunday)
- Sundays during August
On each Sunday, the two services to be sung are the 10am Sung Eucharist (choral setting of the Eucharist and an anthem required), and the 4pm Choral Evensong (responses, psalm, a setting of the canticles and an anthem required).
Bournemouth is a large and vibrant town on the south coast of England, with seven miles of golden sandy beaches, parks, gardens, endless shops, restaurants and attractions – everything you could want for a busy and enjoyable choir weekend away. The cathedrals of Winchester and Salisbury are within an hour’s drive (with Chichester and Portsmouth just a little further) and Dorset’s beautiful Jurassic Coast extends to the west. There is no shortage of hotels and B&Bs to suit every budget, including a Hilton, a Hampton by Hilton, and a Premier Inn within walking distance of the church.
Visiting choirs are invited to make themselves at home (using our secure and purpose-built song room with grand piano, and secure lounge with kitchen and toilets) and to enjoy themselves singing in what has been described as ‘one of the richest Gothic Revival interiors in England’ to the accompaniment of our 52-stop Harrison & Harrison organ.
