Come and join in readings and discussing our Lent book on Thursdays during Lent, beginning on Thursday 13th March downstairs at St Peter’s with coffee and cake at 10.45am.
I have chosen ‘Searched me Out and Known Me: Journeying Lent with the Psalms’, by one of the young Theologians of the moment, Charlie Bell, who is a forensic psychiatrist, who as well as teaching at Cambridge, is also a priest at St John the Divine, Kennington, in the diocese of Southwark. He is a person of wide and fascinating theological interests. It is a short book, available on Amazon (or from me if that’s easier), The book is available from Amazon:
and each week we shall look at the psalm for that week and read Charlie’s commentary together, before discussing the issues it raises for us and our faith together. We will meet on Thursdays (13, 20, 27 March & 10, 17 April). It would be really good if you could stay for Midday Prayer and the Eucharist after! 10.45 Coffee and Lenten cake… 11.00 Reading and Discussion together 12.00 Midday Prayer 12.15 EucharistFinding time to do something that helps us along our way to God can be very difficult. Finding friends with whom to do it can be me even more difficult. I hope you’ll take these opportunities as we seek to grow together and transform the world around us.If you would like to join this group, please book a place with Lisa so that we have some idea of numbers, email her on btcp@live.co.ukI look forward to seeing you.Canon Nick
