The Civic and Parish Church of Bournemouth

Alleluia! The Licensing of The Reverend Canon Nicholas Jepson-Biddle has happened.

It was our privilege and joy to sing for the Licensing of our new Priest-in-Charge, The Reverend Canon Nick Jepson-Biddle, on the evening of Thursday 21st November. The service was led by the Bishop of Winchester, The Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen, and assisted by the Archdeacon of Bournemouth, The Ven Jean Burgess. Sir George Meyrick, patron of the parish, was in attendance, along with The Worshipful the Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor George Farquhar.

The music and Choir of St. Peter’s, Bournemouth, was led by the St Peter’s Church Director of Music, Duncan Courts and it was wonderful.

The introit, ‘The Simple Path’, was written by David Price for the occasion, and we were joined by a brass ensemble led by Nick Jarvis to sing Stanford’s glorious Te Deum in B flat as the anthem. We were also delighted to welcome back Sam Hanson as the organist.

Bournemouth police also came and joined in and said: “It was an honour to attend the licensing service for The Reverend Canon Nicholas Jepson-Biddle as the priest-in-charge of Bournemouth Town Centre Parish. A truly special occasion at St Peter’s Church, where we were also fortunate to meet the Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen, Bishop of Winchester, Cllr Farquhar, the Mayor of Bournemouth.

Nick’s first services in Bournemouth Town Centre Parish were at St. Peter’s on Sunday, 24th November – at 8am, 10am and 4pm. Diocese of Winchester.
