Linnet Baroque presents ‘Tax Your Tongue’

Doors/Bar Open – 6.30pm

Concert – 7pm with interval

Linnet Baroque explores music making in the provinces with extracts of letters and poems by the Rev’d Thomas Twining of the tea merchant family based at Twickenham, buried at St Mary’s. Rev’d Thomas was vicar at Fordham near Colchester, a keen amateur musician and friend of Dr Burney, the great musicologist and composer.

Music during their UK Tour includes English & French songs, cantatas and instrumental music by the great masters Rameau, Handel, Boismortier, Dieupart, C.P.E.Bach and Haydn’s Welsh folk song arrangements, presented alongside the works of lesser known English composers, Dr. Burney, John Carr of Boxford and Henry Holcombe.

The performers are:

Elin Harries – soprano

Thomas Pickering – recorders & baroque flute

Ibrahim Aziz – bass viol

Asako Ogawa – harpsichord
